The Devil was born on April fools
The devil was born on April fools
And all in heaven's circle of love declared "tis the day of tricks"
A blind man once told me of the days before the siege,
When heaven was behind the bed and the devil in our league
And empty houses stood in lots, of buildings burnt and gutted,
With children playing in the roads, the tarmac bent and rutted
And pizza hut, once great and loved, stood ruined in the centre,
Its ovens broken by the storm, no humans dared to enter.
But one did dare enter that place, where happiness once brewed,
He dared to enter only once, and others never knew;
For changed he ventured forth from it, his mind now bent on pizza,
And traveled land upon each land, to find a pizza teacher.
He traveled ‘till his legs grew weary, no rest did he allow them,
For in his mind, one thought therein, to find the truth around him.
