On Autumn (inspired by Keats' "On Autumn")
I sat out, upon the mountainside,
And there, surveyed the world below my feet.
The temperate sharpness of the new west wind
Pushed my face towards the freshly cut fields,
The stubbled ground warm beneath my gaze.
'Twas like a picture, where upon first sight
A surge of warmth flows in through eyes
And circulates within thy blood.
The vivid, teeming, essence of all life,
Personifies itself in Autumn,
Where the death of one creates new life for many.
